February 21st to 25th - Hunt for a tow car

Now that we had the caravan, the need for a tow car was even more pressing... There was no way the neighbours would stand for us holidaying on the driveway every other weekend.

Luckily, we had a budget for this vehicle, but those who know us will not be surprised that we eventually spent over three times this budget on our 2007 Land Rover Discovery 3!!!

In it's favour, it will not be bullied by anything it pulls, and I've always wanted one. Plus Tracey is very happy to be back in a seven seater, and even the kids like it...

The day we collected the Disco from our friends at Rogers of Bedford.

February 19th - Collecting the caravan

Since we hadn't yet bought a tow car, our good friend Roger (was) volunteered to come along and collect our van for us.
We had some issues with the electrics, that turned out to be Roger's car, not our cable or van, but then were safely on our way.

So excited were we, that we pitched the van up outside our house and even slept that first night in it!

Next day it was off to storage and the hunt for a tow car began...

Day 1: February 5th - we bought our caravan

So, after 4 years of thinking about it we finally took the plunge and bought ourselves a caravan.
We have been tent campers for some years, but the unpredictable weather and plethora of extras we were dragging along each time made it less enjoyable than it used to be. We went to several shows to see what was available from the different caravan layouts and manufacturers. Then we thoroughly researched what we wanted in a van and chose the make and model that suited us.
Then, we sold the only car we had which was capable of towing, and went and bought a different make (but similar layout) of caravan!

Our new Sterling Europa 565 on the day we signed the deal.
